The National Nature Reserve of Dunajovické kopce (107 ha) is located on the slopes of Velká slunečná, Jánská hora and Liščí kopec between the municipalities of Březí, Dolní Dunajovice and Brod nad Dyjí, approximately 8 km to the northwest of Mikulov. It consists of several islands of rare steppe vegetation surrounded by vineyards and ranks among the most important steppe localities in South Moravia. Interesting plants growing there include Tatarian Sea-kale, Dwarf Russian Almond, Burning Bush and Iris pumila. The locality is also known as a breeding site of many kinds of birds, especially songbirds.
