Archaeological Instructional Trail
Archaeological Instructional Trail presents archaeological sites from the Paleolithic (the “mammoth hunters”), to the Roman era and the early Middle Ages.
This 5 km instructional trail takes you back into time via eight panels telling visitors about this world-famous locality from the age of the mammoth hunters, who lived in the area of Dolní Věstonice and Pavlov more than 30,000 years ago. The sites have yielded the world’s oldest known evidence of the technology of baking clay and woven textiles. The texts on the panels are accompanied by photographs of the unique finds, and diagrams and maps of the archaeological research.
